MSP for Central Scotland, Graham Simpson said: “I was delighted to visit Varamis Rail at their Mossend hub in my constituency to hear more about their all-electric rail freight service.
“I was very impressed with what they are doing. It has the potential to reduce the number of HGVs on our roads but also make a positive contribution to the local economy through jobs and investment.
“It’s great to see innovative companies in the rail industry stepping up and playing their part in contributing to the decarbonisation agenda.
“I’ll be following the progress of Varamis with interest and look forward to visiting them again soon”.
