I was delighted to receive some beautifully crafted coasters from Arina Nagy-Vizitiu of the Woodland Trust Scotland in recognition on me accepting the role of species champion for the Holly tree or Ilex aquifolium.
This honour came on the back of my campaign to save the greenbelt at Woodhall and Faskine from development. I recently returned to the historic area with Arina and local campaigners to see the stunning Holly trees that grow in the land between Calderbank and Carnbroe.
These coasters will be a lasting reminder of why we must do all we can to keep these stunning trees and other species for the local community to enjoy.
