I'm backing CHAS and their "Keep the Joy Alive" campaign

I  visited Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) hospice - Robin House - in Balloch recently.

The hospice cares for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions, and I'm backing the charity’s bid to reach every family in Scotland who needs their help.

Ponies Help Children

I was invited to see form myself how a charity uses ponies to help disadvantaged children.

Recently I visited Ponies Help Children near Kirk O'Shotts after they won National Lottery funding of more than £8000.

European Dodgeball Championships

I had  the honour of opening the European Dodgeball Championships at Ravenscraig Sports Centre earlier this month.

I  was delighted to accept the invite from the President of the World Dodgeball Association, Tom Hickson, to get the three days of action underway.

Cambusnethan Miners Boxing Club is a knockout success

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Cambusnethan Miners Boxing Club after they were awarded money through the Lottery

Not only did I get to see the great work being done, I was also invited to take part in a training session.

Visit to RAF Lossiemouth was a real eye opener

MSPs have had their eyes opened and our hearts inspired this week on a visit to RAF Lossiemouth in Morayshire.

It was part of a series of visits organised by Presiding Officer Ken McIntosh and The Scottish Parliament, which will let us see all three services.

Over 4000 homes proposed for East Kilbride

Proposals have been submitted to South Lanarkshire Council to build nearly 4000 homes in or about East Kilbride.
The proposals have been put forward for consideration in the local plan, which designates what sites can be used for.
