I asked the Scottish Government Minister for Transport Humza Yousaf how major road projects promote active travel.
It is vital that active travel is not overlooked when planning new road projects.
The Maybole by-pass is a perfect example of an opportunity missed. This is the only major piece of road improvement in South West Scotland at the moment and active travel was not included in the planning.
We must ensure all new trunk road projects include plans for cycle use.
